ALL PREVIOUS REGISTRATIONS WILL BE HONORED!

Participants will be guided through processes that include quilting, printing
and the use of historical text in the construction of quilts. Each participant
will create two 5x5 panels one of which will be incorporated into a work of
art commemorating the 175th Anniversary of Cheyney University. Visit

Fabric (enough to complete
two 5x5 squares)
Stitch Witchery (regular)
Scissors
Regular Sewing Needles
Regular Sewing Thread

PROFESSOR BROWN WILL CONDUCT A GUIDED TOUR OF THE TRACING STITCHES EXHIBIT AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE WORKSHOP.

Artist and Workshop Facilitator
Wendell George Brown is an assistant professor of art at Benedict College
in Columbia, South Carolina. He received his B.F.A. in Fibers /
Crafts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and his M.F.A. in
Painting and Sculpture from Howard University in Washington D.C.
Described as “A Risk Taker in Art ” by The New York Times, Brown’s
works have been exhibited at Virginia Quilt Museum in Harrisonburg,
Virginia; The Florence Museum of Art in Florence, South Carolina; The
American Folk Art Museum in New York; Towne Art Gallery, Wheelock
College in Boston, Massachusetts; The International Quilt Show in
Yokahama, Japan.
